Ing. Jan Mládek
Ing. Jan Mládek, CSc. is Minister of Trade and Industry of the Czech Republic and a member of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic for the South Bohemian region. During his career he was chairman of FONTES RERUM, a cooperative for economic, political and social studies. He served as the first Deputy Minister of Finance of the Czech Republic and Vice-Governor of the IMF for the Czech Republic in Washington, DC. He was also Director of the Czech Institute for Applied Economics, economic advisor to the Czech Prime Minister, Minister of Agriculture and Chairman of the Presidium of the Czech Land Fund. He served as Director of the Czech Institute for Applied Economics and of the Masaryk Workers Academy.
Roman Matousek is professor at Kent Business School where he moved from Sussex University in 2014. He has extensive teaching experience in the area of International Banking, Microeconomics of Banking, Financial Economics, Monetary Economics and Risk Management. He served as Director of the Research Centre for EMEA Banking, Finance and Economics. His research interests have been predominantly focused on theoretical and empirical issues in bank efficiency, microeconomics of banking, financial crises, regulation, monetary policy and international finance. He serves as an Associate Editor of highly rated academic journals - Journal of International Financial Markets, Institutions and Money; Journal of Banking and Finance and Managing Editor of International Journal of Monetary Economics and Finance. He also chaired the Research Centre for EMEA Banking, Finance and Economics.
